what am I supposed to do with frying grease?

Isn't there some eco-friendly way to getting rid of it?

Pour it into a milk jug and refrigerate or freeze it until trash day. You could also cast about for folks that take yellow grease and turn it into biofuel.

You can strain and refrigerate it to reuse it again. Some people refrigerate it to solidify it and roll chunks and pieces of it in some bird seeds and feed it to the birds. No matter what don't put it down the drain.

I strain it and pour it into a plastic milk container and put it in the fridge for future use. Once it becomes too nasty to use I just pour it into some non-recyclable container that can be sealed and then throw it out with the regular trash.

bacon grease can be used again to fry chicken with . My grandmother would throw the chicken grease out on the snow in the winter so the birds would get it or use it in the water when she cooked greens

As Cellar Door suggests, there are people who will take used fry oil off your hands. Glenn Brendle may still be picking up oil from the restaurants he serves with his green house produce. Here's his website: http://www.glennbrendle.com/

He has -or at least had, the last time we spoke- a very simple process of letting the crud settle out then burning the oil to heat his greenhouses.

Look on Craigslist or ask around for people powering their vehicles with used cooking oil. They could possibly come to you to take it off your hands and/or specify their requirements for transportation.
