to consume or to create with? I have seen it in batches to concoct with for a very good price at the Spice Corner in the Italian Market on 9th Street. As you know, it is very expensive, so this was an exctiting discovery. I have a friend who has a marzipan fetish, so I am always on the lookout to tantalize her with new treats. She is especially fond of some of the delights at Teuscher. But in addition to all the usual suspects of chocolatiers in the city (Naked, Teuscher, Miel) I would try Verde on 13th between chestnut and sansom. the combinations Marcie comes up with are mindblowing. Too bad the woman never smiles, she's a genius. I recommend taking a day to pop around each of these shops and purchasing one or two pieces from each of a marzipan based nugget of joy, then having a mini tasting with one or 2 other friends. Make it a neat little event.
oh, and cat tongues? brilliant. My family is polish and we get imported german chocolates and cookies from Shwind's in NJ or Krakus, here. I was obsessed with the graphic on the box... I never thought i would meet another human being who knew what I was talking about.
    Good luck.
